History of Mohawk Linen Services

1970 April 27th - Patent date - Mohawk Hospital Services Inc. - with linens moving from local hospitals to provide services for multiple hospitals.
September 14th - 1st written by-law for Mohawk Hospital Services.
1971 Mohawk Hospital Services begins operations.
1990 Addition to building completed, allowing Mohawk to move from a 7 day operation to a 5 day operation, resulting in substantial savings for our customers.
1995 Drop trailer deliveries offered to facilities with available dock space, freeing up internal customer real estate and allowing a flexible load/unload schedule.
1998 Dynamic Linen Replenishment System implemented system wide, resulting in reduced in-house labour required on site for customers, and an increase in service levels to above 99% shipping.
2006 Sterile Processing Department opened, offering sterile pack making services to our customers.
2008 Introduction of UltraMicrofibre Cleaning products (cloths and mops), the first major central laundry in Canada to offer these products as a standard item, offering best practice opportunities for Environmental Services and cleaning processes.
2010 March 1st - Mohawk Hospital Linen Services announced the launch of an innovative Hybrid Complete Delivery System (CDS) for Labour and Delivery procedures - the first time single use and re-usable products have been combined in one package to provide Nursing with the complete system at bedside, adding efficiencies and allowing Nursing to spend more time with patients. The program is currently being expanded to include OR procedures.
