Career Counselling

At Hurst Place we help employees achieve successful career transitions.  We offer individualized, one to one coaching and career transition services. Our services are action oriented, efficient and focused on providing employees with the practical guidance and tools to help them with their career search campaigns.  We help employees gain increased self confidence, optimism and enthusiasm for taking control of their job search to move forward.  Services are provided by experienced specialists who can assist employees to find new opportunities quickly without compromising on service quality or employee needs.  We offer a choice of comprehensive services that employers can select to best meet their employee's needs.  A successful outplacement plan adapts to the ever-changing needs of employees by leading the way through:

  • Advance termination meeting preparation and consultation with Human Resources representatives, manager and/or union representatives
  • Onsite support for Human Resources representative, manager and/or union representative and employee at time of termination
  • Intensive support/debriefing offered to the employee and their family during first 24 hours following termination
  • Support managing stress and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Resume and cover letter preparation
  • "How to brand and market yourself"
  • Job search coaching in today's most effective strategies for securing employment
  • Development of a job search plan of action
  • Assistance in leveraging both professional and informal job search resources (Internet, Directories, Networking etc)
  • Interview coaching, role playing to learn how to interview like a star!
  • Interview follow up and second and third interview preparation, as well as final employment  negotiations
  • Managing market perceptions and industry commentary about career to date with future prospective employers
  • Financial and Legal Counselling                                              

 These objectives are met through: 

The Traditional outplacement package includes: 

  • Face to face meetings with dedicated and qualified career coaches and consultants for three months post termination
  • Coaching sessions via telephone, face to face, online or any combination of approaches for three months post termination
  • Development of resume and cover letters
  • Intensive job search assistance
  • Full access to consult with career coach and consultant for three months post termination.

 The Comprehensive outplacement package includes:

  • Face to face meetings with dedicated and qualified career coaches and consultants
  • Regular coaching sessions via telephone, face to face, online or any combination of approaches for six months post termination
  • Extended online DISC personality assessment and other leading assessment tools are provided to give guidance and support to employees in their next career move
  • Development of resume and cover letters
  • Intensive job search assistance
  • Full access as required to consult with career coach and consultant for six months post termination
