The rising cost of health care is a constant pressure on provincial governments, hospitals and other providers. Today, the challenge is to deliver quality care with less. At Mohawk Medbuy, we help them do just that.

As a national shared services organization, hundreds of hospitals and community-based health care facilities rely on us to maximize their savings on high-quality medical supplies, life-saving drugs and other services. By combining their individual needs into much larger volumes, we have significant purchasing power to negotiate better contracts, terms and pricing with vendors.

We also provide services like warehousing, linen/laundry and accounts payable processing to groups of hospitals. By sharing the costs of these services with other health care providers, they eliminate the redundancy of each facility devoting staff, space and equipment to those functions. It’s a more efficient, money-saving approach that allows them to direct more resources to patient care. 

And, because Mohawk Medbuy is a not-for-profit organization, those savings and benefits go directly back to the hospitals and other care providers we serve.

Our 2017 amalgamation of Medbuy (previously a group purchasing organization, GPO) and Mohawk (a shared services organization, SSO) created a truly unique entity.
